The Housing Authority of the City of Tulsa (THA) will be purging its Public Housing waitlists on April 28, 2022. This includes waitlists for the following properties:
This does NOT impact waitlists for other THA properties or for the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 waitlist.
There are currently approximately 13,000 applicants on the waitlist for these Public Housing sites with many initial application dates exceeding three years; the Public Housing waitlist was last purged in 2017. This means that the current Public Housing waitlists contain outdated and inaccurate applicant information, making the process of reviewing applications and placing applicants in Public Housing take longer than it would if the data contained in the waitlists was current and accurate. Purging the waitlists and accepting new applications will allow THA to place applicants in Public Housing more efficiently and quickly.
Waitlists for the Public Housing properties listed above will be purged April 28, 2022.
All existing and interested applicants may apply for the properties listed above beginning April 29, 2022. Applications submitted prior to April 28, 2022 will be removed; only applications received on or after April 29, 2022 will be placed on the waitlist.
Letters are being mailed to existing applicants on the waitlists for the properties listed above to notify them of the waitlist purge and to provide information on how and when to reapply.
If your application for one of the above listed properties has been selected – which means you’ve received communication from THA indicating that your application was selected – you do NOT need to reapply.
Those wishing to apply for Public Housing should do so beginning Friday, April 29, 2022. Applications are available online at www.tulsahousing.org/apply-for-housing/public-housing-applications. The online application can be completed on a mobile phone, mobile device or computer. Applicants should apply for the property or properties that they are interested in.
