Congratulations to our February 2019 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program graduate! Through grant funding received from the Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) and Family ROSS Service Coordinators programs, Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) staffs additional service coordinators that offer case management services based on public housing residents’ selected goals. These coordinators complete a household profile on all participants in the program and goals are set according to each individual resident’s needs. Coordinators provide assistance with goals such as work and scholastic education, job placement, individualized counseling, homeownership education and opportunities for a pathway out of public housing.

Morisha Duckett joined the FSS program in March 2014. During the program Morisha set goals to seek and maintain employment and learn attend courses on credit, budgeting and homeownership. She shared, “I joined the program because it would help me set goals for my life that I didn’t put into action on my own. I have two beautiful children growing up and watching everything I do; because of the program it helped me realize I can do better.” Morisha secured and has maintained employment and is looking to pursue opportunities to increase her income.
